Ray Ban Rock Battle 2009

 

In 2008, the famous brand of sunglasses, Ray Ban, Eagerly embarked into the musical adventure by launching the Ray Ban Rock Battle.

The concept is simple: on the shape of a musical competition, young artists are invited to confront each other on prestigious stages, in front of a a real audience. The bands live performances are then judged by professionals, who will choose which one among these bands will have the chance to support an internationally famous artist and maybe be noticed by a record company!

This year, the brand renewed the experience with the Ray Ban Rock Battle 2009 (still organized by Posterscope Conctact Nuit).

After two great parties at Le Regine with Minitel Rose as headliner, and at le Social Club with SebastiAn, the final competition will take place at Le Showcase with Crystal Castles and Dj Pone & Crazy B (Birdy Nam Nam) as headliners, on June 19th.

STEREOLIVE # 2

Few months ago I wrote an article about STEREOLIVE. (Previous post)

Today, I’m glad to tell you that the band has put on its MySpace profile a new song “jackpot” that is almost as good, if not better than the previous ones!

I truly love this new song!! It sounds more nervous and aggressive than the previous songs composed by the band. It makes you want to loose your mind, be wild, go crazy!
“Jackpot” is a perfect mix between Arctic Monkeys, Art Brut and The Fratellis, with this same garage and noisy sound that reminds me a lot The Strokes!

Jackpot - Stereolive

Stereolive is actually recording their 1st EP that will be launched on Fall 2009.

I bet things are going to be a little bit more serious for the band now, and I hope their new EP will be successful and help them to be noticed by professionals.
